ABC radio in town

The ABC is coming to Stanthorpe. In a brave move by breakfast show host David Iliffe, the ABC will be live on air from the Stanthorpe Information Centre on Wednesday – the first day of winter.
Iliffe and his team will be speaking with locals during their normal time slot of 5am to 7.45am.
For those brave souls who venture out, the Rotary Club of Stanthorpe will be hosting a sausage sizzle breakfast.
All proceeds will be donated to the Salzke Benefit Fund, which is raising money to purchase a special bed in the Palliative Care Unit of the Stanthorpe Hospital.
Stanthorpe Rotarians have also taken the opportunity to throw down the gauntlet to the service clubs of Stanthorpe, challenging them to another round of the “Great Mulled Wine Challenge”.
The event was held last year with the Rotarians named winners by a slender margin and they are keen to again show their prowess, while it is rumoured the Lions Club are seeking revenge for the loss. Voting will again take the form of a blind tasting.
Members of the public are invited to don their winter woollies, come along for a bite of breakfast and help determine the winner of the Great Mulled Wine Challenge.
