Councillors to push overpass

An overpass at the Eight Mile intersection will be raised at the 2011 Queensland State ALGWA (Australian Local Government Women’s Association) Conference, which is being held at the Gold Coast until tomorrow.
Councillors Mally McMurtrie and Jo McNally will be representing the Southern Downs region.
Other motions to be presented by the duo for debate include solar lighting for the helipad at Cunningham’s Gap and rates discount for self-funded retirees.
Cr McMurtrie has been appointed to the Executive of The Australian Local Government Women’s Association, Queensland and will represent
Zone Three.
Premier Anna Bligh officially opened the conference last night.
