The Border Landcare Organic Group (BLOG) will host two presentations on Saturday at the Wallangarra Hall.
Presenter, Leyland Minter, will talk about how to protect crops using organic methods, as well as a fascinating new sea mineral product called ORMUS.
Martin and Jane I’Ons will speak on the geology of the Granite Belt district and surrounding areas. They will also explain the interesting properties of diatomaceous earth and its many uses in organic production.
The day will begin with morning tea at 10am. The talks will start at 11am, followed by lunch about 12.30pm. Bring lunch or morning tea to share, cup, plate, and a chair.
Remember to bring along any excess produce or plants for the Bring and Buy stall. Visitors are most welcome.
At last month’s gathering of BLOG, about 50 members and interested visitors learned from Tom Dunn about the various techniques of grafting, both on to old trees in the ground and young bare root stock.
Participants were able to select from a variety of apple species, practise their skills and take home their prized new fruit trees to plant.
Tom also led an informative paddock walk around his diverse orchard.
