RACQ helps Killarney services

Both the Killarney Rural Fire Brigade and Killarney Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) First Responders have received a much needed boost.
RACQ gave the fire brigade a financial donation, while the QAS received gifts of battery chargers.
This recognition by RACQ follows the case of a car that went off Spring Creek Road recently, which required a specialist QFRS rescue team to extricate a young lady.
Bruce Gustafson, who carries out RACQ retrievals in the area and is also the Killarney Rural Fire Brigade first officer, was in the first emergency response vehicle to arrive and immediately anchored the car with his winch to ensure it did not go further over the near cliff.
QAS First Responders assisted a lady who had possible chest injuries, pending the arrival of paramedics from Warwick.
On being advised that an item of value had been lost in the crash area, Bruce returned the next day, went down the steep slope on the end of a rope, found it and returned it to the young lady.
