It’s showtime

After being cancelled due to bad weather last year, the 21st Woodenbong Annual Show, on April 29, will be bigger and better than ever.
The event is commencing on Saturday, April 28, from 6pm with a bbq, bar and live entertainment, which is open to the public, free entry. Sunday is “Show Day” starting out with the ring events at 8am. Cattle judging starts at 10am and entertainment for the young ones is on during the morning, with a pet show, novelty events and an animal nursery. Entertainment by 2pm, local dance groups and a competition to recognise the “Year of the Farmer” for all children 0-12 years, who are invited to dress up as anything to do with farmers or farming. Winners announced during the Official opening of the show at 1pm when the local Border Ranges Pony Club will be doing a march past.
The pavilion will be opened after judging is completed at approximately 10.30am with all local produce, cooking, handicrafts, art and photography on display. Skilled chainsaw demonstrations; and polish up those utes for the Ute Show, or join in on the new Ironman Competition. So if you fancy yourself some fast-paced farm work? Come along and test yourself against the clock, this will be fun and good prize money is up for grabs.
The Championship Dog Show is on again; see these beautiful well groomed dogs being judged at one of the biggest dog show you’ll ever see, with over 300 entries of all breeds.
