Thieves have targeted two premises recently and stolen a number of firearms.
On the night of March 30 offenders gained entry to premises at Glen Niven Road, The Summit, where they forced open a container before stealing a number of weapons.
Offenders have also recently targeted a house at Back Creek Road, Severnlea, and stole a number of firearms and other property.
In both cases it appears the storage facility did not comply with requirements, making it an easy target for the thieves.
This is a timely reminder to all weapons licence holders to ensure that their storage facilities comply with regulations.
Storage of weapons in a facility that fails to comply not only makes you an easy target but can also make you liable for criminal charges.
