Work begins on new customer service centre

Refurbishment works began on the Southern Downs Regional Council’s customer service centre in Warwick this week.
The new customer service area will encompass more offices behind the counter and create more space in the Warwick downstairs customer service centre to centralise all Warwick telephone and counter customer service officers.
Local contractors, Roulston Builders Pty Ltd, had been appointed to undertake the works on the $70,000 project.
The council expects work to be completed by the end of July.
“With these changes, the customer service function will be centralised, enhancing the delivery of customer service, as the team will be able to work more cohesively,” chief executive officer Rod Ferguson said.
“These works are part of the council’s commitment to improve customer service,” he said.
“A survey of residents about services and service levels has already been undertaken and the council is also introducing better training for customer service officers.”
During this time, the customer service area will be relocated to the first floor. Access to the first floor is available via the stairs or alternatively, a lift is also available.
Access to the administration building will only be available through the entrance from the council’s carpark. The entrance from Fitzroy Street will be closed for the duration of the works.
Opening hours remain unchanged at 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused to customers during this time.
Any enquiries should be directed to the council’s manager business services, Cassie Martinez, on (07) 4661 0300.
