The Southern Downs Regional Council has entered arrangements with chief executive officer (CEO) Rod Ferguson to terminate his contract of employment, Mayor Peter Blundell announced yesterday.
“The termination of the CEO’s contract was mutually accepted,” Cr Blundell said.
He noted the exemplary record of achievement by the CEO and wished him all the very best in his future endeavours.
“In the coming months the council is to introduce an Organisational Cultural program and carry out a full review of the Corporate Structure and thus it was felt that it was timely to cease his contract and this was mutually accepted,” Cr Blundell said.
Mr Ferguson said: “I have enjoyed the challenges of the past eight years, including those thrown up by the forced amalgamation and look forward to what the future might hold for me”.
Cr Blundell said the council would now embark on a recruitment program to attract a new CEO.
