Yelarbon to celebrate

Getting ready for the party, from left, Mrs Phillipa Sly, Yelarbon State School principal, Zander Emerton, Stuart Officer, Will Elsley and Clarina De Jager decorating their classroom for the centenary celebrations.

Yelarbon State School is turning 100 and everyone is invited to come along and join in the birthday celebrations on Saturday, September 8.
The big day has something for all the family. There will be entertainment for young and old including a jumping castle, face painting, bush poet Gary Fogarty, a DJ, dancing and fun sports for the children.
An array of market stalls will be offering jewellery, olives, leather goods, toys, plants, prints, baby clothes, arts and crafts. The Vehicle Restorers Association will also be displaying a selection of vintage cars.
With all this activity guests can recharge with morning tea, coffee, fairy floss, ice cream, barbecue, camp oven dinners and a cool drink from the bar.
And of course a big birthday bash wouldn’t be complete without fireworks, so at 6.30pm the Yelarbon night sky will light up with a colourful display.
Come along and catch up with old friends and new. Festivities begin at 11am.
To register, call (07) 4675 1109 or go online www.yelarbonss.eq.edu.au
Get in quick to order your commemorative port, stubby coolers, bag and Centenary book, “Rabbits, Railways and Resilience” compiled by local Janelle Wilkie, while stocks last.
Yelarbon State School and community look forward to seeing you!
