Support for locals impacted by cancer

Cancer Council Queensland is encouraging Stanthorpe locals touched by cancer to attend an information day on Saturday, March 9 to learn more about the support and services available to them.

The Cancer Information Day is a joint initiative of Cancer Council Queensland, Stanthorpe Cancer Support Group and McGrath Breast Care, and will run from 2pm to 5pm on March 9 at Art on Davadi
(corner of Lock and Davadi Street).

Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said
she encouraged locals who have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis to take advantage of the information day
and learn more about the valuable services available to them.

“The Cancer Information Day provides insight into the wonderful support and services available
to locals impacted by cancer which can sometimes be difficult to navigate,” she said.

“Community members will hear from a variety of guest speakers including palliative care services, breast care nurses, prostate
support groups, Blue Nurses, and Cancer Council Queensland’s accommodation and emotional and practical support services.

“This information day is the perfect opportunity to access practical information and support for
the
many challenges faced throughout diagnosis and treatment.”

Guest speakers will also be available to answer questions after the session.

A $2 donation at the door will go towards the Granite Disability Service and afternoon refreshments are available at the café.
