Classic cars roll into Allora

MEMBERS of the Vintage Car Club of Australia enjoyed a visit to Allora at the weekend.
Club president Glynn Hackshall said members jumped at the chance to visit the town, and to help with fund-raising for the Allora Historical Society.
Members also visited the renowned Mary Poppins author P.L Travers’ former home on Herbert St (pictured in the background).
“It was great to see Allora and surrounding towns in the Southern Downs again,” Mr Hackshall said.
“Our members always like to visit these areas to experience some of what the town has to offer, as well as giving something back with fund-raising and spending money locally.”
Memberships have steadily increased in the Vintage Car Club of Australia to about 150 – which was up from 100 members two years ago.
Among the classic cars was a 1900 Oldsmobile and two 1910 T-Model Fords.
