Warwick Cup set to jump

The green light is on for the 2018 Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup tomorrow, Saturday 13 October at Allman Park Racecourse.

The seven-race program gives plenty of chances for a flutter on the track, and trackside there’s plenty happening, including Fashions on the Field, giveaways and live music post-races.

Gates open at 11am on Saturday and general admission is $20 per person.

This year Fashions on the Field will be judged by Tony and Teresa Coates of the Brisbane Riverview Hotel who’ve become big fans of the Warwick Cup.

Anyone on the course is in with a chance for Fashions on the Field – so dress up in your best to boost your chances of being spotted by the judges and walking away with cash prizes and gift vouchers for local businesses, including $2000 in cash from David Gengos and Co, Brown Brothers Gift Baskets, Riverview Hotel overnight vouchers and prizes from Rose City Shoppingworld stores.

The Fashions on the Field categories are ‘Best Dressed Lady’, ‘Best Millinery’ and ‘Best Dressed Couple’ – be spotted at the entry of the Pavilion Precinct and Public Entry Gate or nominate at the Fashions on the Field Marquee by 1pm.

And everyone who comes through the gates will receive a ticket to go in the draw to win three $500 travel vouchers kindly offered by Helloworld Travel – just write your name, number and email on the back of your ticket and drop it into the red entry boxes you’ll see around the course.

The seven-race program kicks off with Race 1 – the Warwick Cup Open Handicap – to jump at 1.09pm.

The canteen and bars will be operating and EFTPOS is available, along with Sky Channel, TAB and bookmakers on site.

Local rockers Sleeping Dogs will belt out tunes in the Rose Shoppingworld Fashions on the Field Marquee after the last race until late.

The Warwick Turf Club – one of the oldest in Queensland, even pre-dating the Melbourne Cup – looks forward to welcoming you to Allman Park this Saturday for a great day of punting, entertainment and socialising.
