• Fruit Fly Control: 300 growers attend meeting with F.W. Bullock, Minister for Agriculture

(Growers had contributed £300 a year to investigate the fruit fly, from 1922).

Promised that “no kid gloves should be used in carrying out regulations”.

December 4

• Stanthorpe Greets Royal Visitor, Prince Henry (Duke of Gloucestor) receives great reception and buntings. Welcomed to Wallangarra by the Premier, Forgan Smith.

7000 to greet Duke in Stanthorpe. Broadcast live over the wireless by 4GR; Lighthorse formed a bodyguard for the Duke on his way to Terrica.
