Entertainment In Brief

This week in entertainment, Taylor Swift is releasing a new album, a cast member is leaving Euphoria, and Don't Worry Darling is dealing with yet more drama.

Taylor Swift announces 10th studio album

Taylor Swift has announced that she will be releasing her 10th studio album on October 21, titled Midnights.

She stated that the album will be “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered through my life”.

Swift is still in the process of re-recording her earlier albums after the masters were sold.

Her debut album and her albums Speak Now, 1989, and Reputation have yet to be re-recorded.

Swift has been unable to re-record Reputation due to a time five-year period where she’s unable to do so, but can now re-record its lead single, Look What You Made Me Do. Her outfit at the VMAs was said to be a reference to the outfit she wears in the song’s video.

Barbie Ferreira leaving Euphoria

Barbie Ferreira has announced she will not be appearing in Euphoria’s third and final season. This comes amid reports she clashed with director Sam Levinson, and as her character was given a limited role in season two.

Season three will see a time jump, with it expected that Aussie Jacob Elordi’s character Nate Jacobs will also no longer be heavily involved in the show.

Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Storm Reid, and more are expected to reprise their roles as Rue Bennett, Jules Vaughn, Cassie Howard, Lexi Howard, Maddy Perez, and Gia Bennett respectively.

Shia LeBeouf and Olivia Wilde clash over Don’t Worry Darling comments

Shia LeBeouf has responded to comments made by Olivia Wilde about him being fired from her movie Don’t Worry Darling. He stated that he withdrew from the film due to feeling he didn’t have enough time to rehearse. He provided copies of emails sent between the actor and director, and a video sent to him by Wilde where she seemingly tries to smooth over a conflict on set and get the actor to stay on board the project. Wilde has drawn criticism for her comments about lead actress Florence Pugh in the video, as she’d previously made comments about having a “no a**holes policy” on set and LeBeouf has infamously drawn criticism for being difficult and intimidating on set.
