The release of Quinnie’s highly-anticipated single Man has been pushed back from 24 August to 30 September. Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone

Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone have called it quits, falling suspiciously close to the latter’s 25th birthday. 47-year-old DiCaprio has been criticised for many years for never dating a woman over the age of 25. A day after the split was announced, he was seen with 22-year-old Ukrainian model Maria Beregova.

Shia LaBeouf joins Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis

The iconic filmmaker’s dream, self-financed project set to star Adam Driver among others is gearing up to start filming in November and controversial figure Shia LaBeouf was cast last week. The actor’s former partner, musician FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against him in 2020 for sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress. LaBeouf had not commented on the matter until recently on actor Jon Bernthal’s podcast: “I hurt that woman and in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people, and many other people before that woman. I was a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centred, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being.”

Yellowjackets season two filming commences

Hit Showtime series Yellowjackets (available for streaming in Australia on Paramount+) is back filming for its second season, as announced by the show’s Twitter account last week. The seven-time Emmy-nominated show follows a group of high school soccer players who get into a plane crash and are stranded for close to two years, descending into cannibalism as a means of survival. The series also explores the women as adults 20 years after the incident, as they fight the demons from their pasts.

Venice Film Festival underway

Last week, the much anticipated 2022 Venice Film Festival began, with actress Julianne Moore as the jury president. The prestigious event – one of the more glamorous festivals on the circuit – attracts stars from across the globe to promote their films and walk the red carpet. Noah Baumbach’s White Noise opened the festival and stars Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig. It received an150-second standing ovation, which in festival terms is not all that outstanding, incredibly. Perhaps the most talked about film of the festival was Don’t Worry Darling due to the intense, high-profile drama between star Florence Pugh and director Olivia Wilde. Pugh skipped the press conference and only attended the premiere alongside her co-stars, making a statement by leaving the theatre hallway through the film’s standing ovation. Despite the drama, the film debuted to quite negative reviews – its release next month will test how much of a box office hit it will be, however.

Kevin Federline sparks criticism with 60 minutes interview

Britney Spears’ ex-husband, and father of her two children, Kevin Federline has sparked criticism for an interview on 60 minutes Australia. The program has also received criticism for what many have called a one-sided package centred on Spears’ relationship with her teen sons.

In the interview, parts of which originally appeared on British network ITV, Federline claimed Britney’s father Jamie Spears “saved” her by implementing the abusive conservatorship she was trapped in for 13 years. The conservatorship was widely criticised as abusive.

The interview was controversial not just because of the way it demonised Britney’s custody issues with her kids, but because it involved her underage son and neglected to mention why she lost custody of her kids in 2019. It left out that Britney’s children had a domestic violence restraining order against Jamie Spears in 2019 after he allegedly assaulted her eldest son Sean Preston. The boys then moved in with Kevin Federline.
