Walkley winner joins Today

New Today senior reporter Amelia Willmer.

Warwick-Stanthorpe Today is pleased to announce the appointment of Walkley Award winning reporter Amelia Willmer, who is resuming her journalism career to work for us as a Senior Journalist.

Amelia won the Walkely in 1989, capping-off a career that included a stint in London’s Fleet St where she was assigned to cover major stories, including the Falklands War.

In Australia, she was a senior sub-editor at the Telegraph and the Daily Sun before helping to start up Logan City’s Reporter Newspaper where she was Deputy Editor.

“I feel privileged to be invited to join the team at Warwick Today and Stanthorpe Today,” Amelia said.

“I look forward to contributing many informative and interesting stories across all areas of news-gathering.

“I also look forward to supporting the professional development of the junior reporters who come here to begin their careers.”
