Visitors to the Pottery Section of the Stanthorpe Show will be inspired by the work of the creative minds of our region. We are fortunate to live in an area that always has had and continues to attract talented ‘makers’ of all description.

This year we hope to see a greater input by the juniors in our community. Following a number of workshops facilitated by some generous Pottery Club members, some lovely work has been done that visitors to the Tea Pavilion will hopefully see in the Junior work. Tenterfield potters were also invited to enter their work.

Stanthorpe Pottery Club members will be showing off some of their work in one or a number of the following classes including ‘emerging (or Beginners)’, ‘Wheel Thrown Pottery’, ‘Alternative Fired Pottery’, ‘Hand built Functional Ware’ and the ‘Ceramic Sculpture Section’.

Two major awards, to the value of $100, are also given out at this time for what the judge sees as the best. Judging again this year is Lindsay Muir, a high-profile professional potter who now lives back in the Granite Belt. Some of his work will also be on display for the viewers’ pleasure.

Chief Steward, Patena Moesker is looking forward to pottery and clay sculpture fans coming along to support the Arts in this region. With pieces for sale, you may even wish to take a piece home.
