Cars and all that Jazz

The 1972 Chevrolet Nova.

The Jumpers and Jazz Grand Automobile Display is revving up to be full to the brim with the rare, the

unusual, and the elite this year.

More than a 100 cars are already registered with some very special attractions ready to be lined up on Palmerin St and in Leslie Park on Sunday

July 23rd .

Local Warwick car enthusiast, Craig Corchoran has been waiting in the wings with his pride and joy for some time, a 1972 Chevrolet Nova, (pictured) while it has been customized for some time through a friend in the business in Melbourne.

Originally imported from America, Craig is delighted to have his vehicle on home ground in Warwick and keen to share all his stories of restoration on the day with other enthusiasts.

Bill and Karen Ryan have always had a passion for old cars and restored their first vintage car, a 1928 Chevrolet Roadster, during the first several years of their marriage back in the late 70’s. The passion grew with the purchase and restoration of other vintage cars until I expanded my interest into veteran vehicles (pre 1919) about 5 years ago.

Searching for something with a bit more power, they invested in a 1918 Buick Roadster just a few months ago. Purchased from the estate of a well-respected veteran car restorer in Tamworth, NSW, it had taken Jim 6 years to restore the car from a very poor state, completing it in 1984. He made several trips to the USA to attend swap meets collecting parts for its restoration. Of note, the mudguards were hand made by an old-school panel beater in Armidale. Meanwhile, a guaranteed ‘looker’, brought by owner Bill Fuller, will be the very elegant

1933 supercharged J3 MG – with only 22 ever built and only 12 remaining in the world.

Registrations are open until July 17th, and available online through www.jumpersandjazz.com.au/grand-automobile-display
