Fabulous free music vibes at Jumper and Jazz street events

Both weekends of Jumpers and Jazz in July again feature free street events with music entertainment throughout the day. Enjoy continual music on three stages on Sunday 23 July (Grand Automobile) and Saturday 29 (Stroll and Swing) and the grand finale Picnic in the Park Jazz Arena, at Leslie Park on Sunday 30 July.

Enthusiasts will be delighted to see the return of Australian Army Band, Slips and the Fw’s, Robyn Brown Quintet to name a few, with Australia Navy Band Jazz ensemble making their first appearance at Jumpers and Jazz on Sunday, 23 July ( Grand Automobile Display) at the Post Office stage.

For the first time, the energetic and entertaining ‘Horns on the Hill” roving band will bring the surprise element to the Grand Automobile display, with pop up performances all through Palmerin Street and in Leslie Park.

The very popular and talented Empire Swing Dancers will again be setting the Swing Dance Scene on both weekends with workshops on offer .

Jumpers and Jazz committee are always keen to support the ‘up and comings’ in the music arena – and this the festival welcomes back the very talented Warwick State High School Jazz Band through the week and on Saturday 29, and for the first time, the Warwick City Band ‘Jazz Performance’ on Sunday, 23 July.

By popular demand The Marist Brothers (Ashgrove) Big Band, featuring 40 students in a variety of ensembles , return to open the Picnic in the Park Jazz Arena on Sunday, 30 July along with major performers Nina Bloom and Groove Train through the day, and the very popular Mal Wood Band to close the festival .

Mid week festival goers and locals can look forward to a variety of first class performances front of Town Hall featuring polished school and college jazz bands and local artists, including Assumption College with their their debut performance at Jumpers and Jazz.

These performers are always received enthusiastically by audiences on the day and add a very live vibe to the CBD.

The street event schedule will become available on the JJJ website www.jumpersandjazz.com.au and on the printed program available at Visitor INformation Centre. Mid-week performances will be added as performers are confirmed and can be viewed on the website’s performance schedule tab.
