Time to celebrate local flavours

Celebrity Chef Matt Golinski.

There is about to be a full flavour explosion hitting Jumpers and Jazz in July on the 29 July.

The 10 day festival is a celebration of the local region and South East Queensland and no time is it more apparent than on the penultimate day – when food takes centre stage.

There will be more than twenty producers from across South East Queensland coming to share their stories and their products with festival attendees.

Festival goers can sample delights from the Southern Downs, Stanthorpe, Scenic Rim and Toowoomba with produce ranging from locally grown meats, fruit and vegetables, honey, pickles, jams and relishes, not to mention the baked goods.

It is chance to enjoy and collect delights from across the region

will want to make sure you pack the esky for this day so you can stash away your products while you wander the streets and enjoy jazz tunes and markets.

Matt Golinski will be doing cooking demonstrations throughout the day at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. You will be able to see him create magic with local producers’ items from Lazy Cow Farm, Echo Valley Farm, The Truffle Discovery Centre, The Pickling Project, Stanthorpe Cheeses, Jamworks, Sky View Pastoral, Wilde Foods and Olive View Estate. With a selection like this our mouths are already watering in anticipation for what he will be whipping up.

There is also nothing quite like getting children involved in food from an early age and thanks to Missy Peacheroo and Rose City Fruits, there will also be Little Chef sessions where the mini masterchefs will be able to make Watermelon Pizzas. Bookings are required for these sessions, so we suggest booking in through Missy Peacheroo’s Facebook page.

The budding young chefs who book into the 12.45pm session will even get some hot tips from celebrity Chef Matt Golinski who will be swinging past to say hi and maybe share a few pearls of wisdom.
