Stay entertained at the show

All ages take on the crowd favourite Barrell Racing.

Around the grounds and on the Stage in the Peter Bonner Exhibition Centre.

2024 Stanthorpe Show entertainment will have something for everyone! Just ask our Show President, Brett Boatfield – he will tell you, ‘he’s the biggest kid on the grounds at show time!’ He has handpicked some entertainment for you this year that he is sure you will enjoy.

If you are feeling in need of some physical exercise, you can spend some time on the Base Zero climbing wall – plenty of challenges and courses to choose from in getting to the top. You won’t miss the wall – it’s 7 metres high and available to climb from 10.00am each day. Suitable for all ages and the climb will be supervised at all times.

In another venue, The Tea Pavilion, you will find Dino Attractions – walk into the activities where you might see a Rusty the Raptor show or get involved in other activities. Outside you can walk with a dinosaur or see the stage performance at 4.30 on Friday or 2.00pm on Saturday.

Looking for some quiet time for the younger show patrons – come and sit and watch old favourite Professor Wallace and his puppets – always fun and lots of laughs – look for the Professor in the Kidzone from 11.00am.

Noah’s Racing pigs will perform in the Kidzone from 12.00 on Friday – there will be several races, so keep listening for when the next race will be held.

And don’t forget the best part of the show – Sideshow Alley. Rides include Miami Star, the Cyber Party, the Tornado, the Whizzer and two different Dodgem cars. For younger showgoers, a jumping castle, the Tea Cups ride and all the usual games- clowns, shooting range, fairy floss and hot dogs. There will be other rides but please support the Showman’s Guild, we wouldn’t have a show without them.

Wandering around the grounds doing very different activities will be the Hula Hoops and The Balancing Man. You may have seen both of them at previous shows, but The Balancing Man will be on the Stage in the Peter Bonner Exhibition Centre at 12 noon and Hula Hoops at 3.00pm. Look for their colourful costumes as they rove all around the grounds. You will only see The Balancing Man on Friday so don’t miss him. Hula Hoops will be around the grounds and on the stage on both days.

Back by popular demand is the Jason Gray Magic Show. Jason and Rhett have new magic tricks and stories to tell. On the Exhibition Centre at 1.00 and again at 6.00pm and performing again on Saturday.

Don’t miss the Fashion Parades on Friday – two parades 3.30 and 5.30 and featuring outfits to suit the Four Seasons we enjoy here in Stanthorpe.

Just before the Official Opening at 5.00pm, you will hear the Stanthorpe RSL Pipe Band performing on the grounds as they get ready to lead the Machinery exhibits in the Peter Bondfield Arena for the opening of the 148th Stanthorpe Show, to be performed this year by Mrs Maddie Burton.

Immediately afterwards, you will be entertained the competitors in the Motor Bike Barrel Race, taking place in the Arena. Very popular last year riders of all ages will ride a barrel race configuration in the quickest time to win.

From 6.30 the main attraction of the evening entertainment – Roll Over Cars Australia – will colour the main arena. You may have heard all about them from their social media posts, they are loud, thrilling and dangerous but exciting to all. You won’t be able to miss them! And they are performing on both Friday and Saturday night.

When the dust and noise settles – Sparkeys Fireworks will light up the sky at 8.00pm as a fitting end to the activities in the Main Arena.

It is then time to head over the Wine Area to relax to the music of The Berrymen and enjoy food from the Wine Cantina and a drink from the Can Bar or a wine from the Wine Bar.

On Saturday afternoon on completion of the horse events in the Arena, the Jack and Jill Chainsaw Race will be held in front of the Can Bar.

Saturday afternoon will also see a demonstration by the 11th Light Horse Darling Downs troop, honouring the horsemanship skills and ethos of the Australian Light Horse. Again in the Main Arena.

Dog Jumping competition, returning after an absence of many year, will take place in front of the Can Bar.

At 6.30 Roll Over Cars Australia – will again perform in the main arena. If you see them on Friday night you will want to see them again.!

Watch the great fireworks display from Sparkeys before heading off to the Wine Bar or Can Bar to unwind and enjoy food and drink from the Wine.

And please tell our President what you enjoyed most about all the entertainment brought to you over the two days of the 2024 Stanthorpe Show.
