Pause, reflect and reconnect this headspace day

headspace day is an annual event dedicated to promoting and advocating for the mental health and wellbeing of all young Australians.

headspace Warwick is bringing headspace day to life in the Southern Downs Region by sharing our headspace day cupcakes and promoting conversations about mental health.

On Wednesday 9 October, our staff will be out the front of headspace Warwick, 58 Palmerin Street, handing out cupcakes to our community as a way of increasing the understanding of youth mental health wellbeing and encouraging communities to practice self-care behaviour, using the 7 tips for a healthy headspace:

Get into life

Learn skills for tough times

Get enough sleep

Create connections

Eat well

Stay active

Cut back on alcohol and other drugs

Head to headspace.org.au/tips for more content, information and tools.

This year’s theme, “Pause. Reflect. Reconnect.” encourages young people to take time amidst life’s challenges to pause, reflect and reconnect with the things they love. To do something that works for them.

By fostering open conversations and promoting self-care practices, headspace day strives to provide young Australians and their families with information and tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.

Young people today juggle a lot – emotional ups and downs, figuring out who they are, and wondering about the future. Plus, balancing who they are online and offline!

That’s a whole extra level. This mix of mental, emotional, and intellectual challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming.

We want young people to know that by pausing and reflecting, they can find the space and energy to reconnect.

Reconnecting with others, work, study, nature, hobbies and the things a person loves, can positively impact their mental wellbeing and build their resilience.

It can support young people take the steps they need to get back into work, study or engage with their family and friends network, their culture, country or community.

For ideas on how to Pause. Reflect. Reconnect. visit headspace.org.au/reconnect.

headspace Warwick is a FREE service for young people aged from 12 years to 25 years and you don’t need a GP referral to seek support.

Just call or walk in and one of our friendly headspace team will support you through the referral process.
