Funding for Allora’s Southern Cross

Allora Aged Care Facility residents Ms Maurine Masters (L) and Ms Carmel May (R) met with Maranoa MP David Littleproud on Monday who announced the facility had secured $480,264 for upgrades.

Maranoa MP David Littleproud this week announced $480,264 in funding to upgrade Allora’s Southern Cross Care aged care residence.

Mr Littleproud said the funding was secured through the Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants initiative.

The funds will be used to upgrade en suites to resolve accessibility issues and replace deteriorating fixtures and paintwork.

“This make-over will provide a new level of comfort for our seniors and I think that has a huge flow-on effect in the community knowing that seniors are feeling comfortable and cared for,” Mr Littleproud said.

“We want to support seniors in our community and provide reassurance that that relevant care and services are available.

“For many seniors, it is a huge challenge to move to a larger town or city for aged care services, which can result in a sense of displacement.”
