Darling Downs Health COVID-19 hotline now live

The Darling Downs Health region of Queensland Health has introduced a new COVID-19 coronavirus hotline – 1800 490 468 available seven days a week from 6am to 6pm to answer health-related queries from the public.

There were no current cases of COVID-19 within the Southern Downs Regional Council area as of late yesterday, Wednesday 15 April.

There have so far been 43 confirmed cases within the Darling Downs Health region with 25 of those having recovered. Current active cases are in Toowoomba, Miles, and Oakey.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk yesterday announced 45 newly-graduated paramedics would be deployed around the state “joining the front line to keep up the fight against COVID-19” but did not release specific locations of their deployment.

She said another 60 paramedic graduates would be “fast-tracked into training this month”.

As of yesterday Queensland had 552 active cases with 442 recoveries and five deaths.
