Homicide investigation in progress

Police are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man in Warwick late yesterday, Wednesday 16 September.

A police media bulletin issued early this morning, Thursday, said just before 6pm last night police responded to reports of a disturbance on Hope Street in Warwick’s east.

“Upon arrival police located a Warwick man with a serious head wound,” police said.

“He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“A 29-year-old Warwick man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries.

“A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.”

No charges have yet been made in relation to the investigation. Updates to follow.
