Council holding drop-in information session for tradies tomorrow

Council’s Economic Development Team is holding a free one-on-one drop-in information session tomorrow on Thursday 12 August in Warwick at the Stockyard Tavern.

Council’s Economic Development Team is holding a free one-on-one drop-in information session tomorrow on Thursday 12 August in Warwick at the Stockyard Tavern.

The session aims to assist businesses with preparing a tender response, tips on how to showcase their business effectively, workplace health and safety information and general procurement information.

Southern Downs Regional Council is currently inviting local tradies to send in tenders to become Council suppliers, with a Request for Tender now open for the provision of general trade services.

Council is currently seeking to establish a Pre-Qualified Supplier Arrangement (PQSA) with suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide general trade and associated services in the areas of planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and capital works.

All tender responses must be submitted via Vendorpanel, a free online platform, by the 2 September 2021 closing date.

Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi said the drop-in session is a prime opportunity for businesses to get a foot in the door with Council.

“Council is committed to engaging local suppliers and partnering with businesses across the region to carry out our services for the community,” Mayor Pennisi said.

“This is a significant tender for Council and as we want our locals to be a part of this, we are hoping to be inundated by local tradespeople.

“If you have ever considered becoming a Council supplier but were not sure how to start, then these drop-in sessions are essential for learning more and submitting a strong tender response.”

Interested businesses are invited to drop in at any time during the sessions with their questions or to receive one-on-one assistance.
