The Border Ranges Amateur Radio Club has been seeking significant sponsorship to enable the updating of parts to their Radio Repeater Network.

“We were encouraged by the Bendigo Community Bank to tell them our story and requirements. This discussion proceeded into an application for a grant under their Community Grants Program.”

After some clarification and understanding the technical nature of our requirements, the Bendigo Bank granted the Border Ranges Amateur Radio Club significant funding to obtain two new antenna systems for their Repeater Network.

These two new antennas replace old and faulty antennas.

This Radio Repeater Network covers the greater Granite Belt and Southern Downs as well as into New South Wales.

This system is solar/battery or battery only, giving independence from normal power.

When other forms of communications cease to function, the Border Ranges Amateur Radio Network is still available.

This radio network has been used in emergencies such as the Stanthorpe fires and is always available in a community emergency.
