Q&A

Paul Petter, secretary at the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch, was our Q&A feature this week.

You may know PAUL PETTER for his role as secretary at the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch, or more broadly for his involvement in the local community.

But you probably don’t know what his last meal on earth would be, or which six people he’d have at his dream dinner party! Find out a thing or two about Paul below.

Q. How and when did you first become involved with the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch?

A. I transferred as a member in 2014 when we moved into the area and elected as secretary three years ago.

Q. What do you love most about being part of the Sub Branch?

A. Being part of something bigger than me. Being able to give back to, and also pay forward, folk in the community that need it.

Q. What do you do to relax?

A. When we are able travel apart from that I feel I am busier now than when I was working. I find that relaxing most of the time.

Q. What has been your most memorable moment and why?

A. Saying I do and welcoming my children into the world. All else pales in comparison.

Q. What event – past, present, or future – would you like to witness?

A. The rediscovery of the “Golden Rule”. Seems to me there is far too much ’me and I’ around at the moment.

Q. Which six guests would be invited to your ultimate dinner party?

A. Any six of my mates as anyone else it would become just hard work and not a party.

Q. What’s the best book you’ve read?

A. I read a lot and often – lately it would be something in the crime action realm.

Q. What were you like in school?

A. I was a bit of a slacker. It always appeared on my report card Paul could work harder. Some would say not much has changed.

Q. What is your favourite spot in our region?

A. I live there. Stanthorpe.

Q. What would your last meal on earth be?

A. If I were to be on death row it would be a hangi (slow cooked and smokey). Apart from that it would be the last one I ate.
