Since 1987, Life Education Queensland has been an important part of growing up for more than 1.5 million Queensland children – empowering them with the knowledge and skills they need for them to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Their range of programs are focused on the key influences on a child’s health and wellbeing, including nutrition, cyber safety, alcohol, smoking, drugs, bullying, emotional health and relationships.

All primary modules are aligned with the Australian curriculum for health and physical activity and are developed to support teachers reach these specific learning outcomes and complement learning in the classroom.

Susan Evans is the Chair of Granite Belt Life Education.

She stated that in early term two every year the van comes down, but this year due to Covid-19 the educator came without the van.

Across the Granite Belt, Life Education has been supporting students for almost forty years, and was one of the very first committees in Queensland to support the delivery of programs using a mobile van.

Their local committee is a group of passionate community members and educators who value what this experience provides for our young people.

They are always looking for more members, so if you are interested, please contact Susan Evans on 4684 1254.

This year, Life Education programs will be taught to over 1000 students across all Granite Belt primary schools, St Joseph’s and Texas from April 19th to May 27th.

Schools support the cost of this program each year, enabling maximum student participation.

All students will have the opportunity to participate in lessons and receive a workbook to further their understanding back in the classroom.
