Warwick’s Weddings and Events took home three awards at last month’s Australian Bridal Industry Awards, showcasing the high end service to be one of our country’s best.
Weddings and Events owner Peta Murphy said the 2014-established business does floristry, styling, hire, co-ordination on the day, and photography.
“We can do quotes online with people or they can come in and see the hire products,” Peta said
“We’ve got people who come and they’ve got no idea of colour, style, or anything like that, so we help them and pull ideas together.”
The hard work Peta and her predominantly family-run team have accomplished resulted in taking home third in floral design, third in wedding consulting, and ninth in wedding styling.
However, the event happened online due to Covid-19 and Peta said it unfortunately occurred on a busy work day.
“We were setting up a wedding and while the awards were on, we had our phones set up and we kept checking them,” she recalled of the day last month.
This isn’t the business’ first splash at a bridal awards – Peta said they’ve won a few and been finalists before.
“It’s nice to be recognised for all the hard work, and reaching the end result that our clients are happy – it was a bit surreal,” she said.
But what’s more?
Peta explained that their efforts were for the last four years of bridal service.
“When we do weddings, our brides will rate us,” she said.
“For us to go into the Australian Awards, for four years consistently, all brides have got to rate us over 95 per cent, out of 100 per cent.”
This impressive achievement was born solely from Weddings and Events’ service, a business Peta said she’d always hoped to run.
About 20 years ago, she was Noosa-based and worked in interior design.
“We used to make skirting, tablecloths and napkins for people and worked closely with wedding decorators,” Peta said.
“I thought, ‘I’m going to do that one day’, and one day came.”
Despite Covid-19 hitting the industry hard and causing financial loss, the team went down other avenues to keep business going.
“It was quite devastating but we’ve picked up again,” she said.
Weddings and Events Warwick also own Blooms of Warwick, and the former is located at 27 Condavale Drive.
