Warwick Spinners and Weavers Group celebrated an impressive milestone this afternoon at Abbey Boutique Hotel, and they celebrated in style.

To mark 50-years since the group’s 1972 establishment, current and past members were joined by representatives from the Gold Coast, Toowoomba, and Highfields groups who were all treated to a high tea.

Warwick Spinners and Weavers president Celia Perry hosted the event and speakers included John Nation, SDRC Mayor Vic Pennisi, and Member for Southern Downs James Lister.

SDRC Councillor Marco Gliori also attended the event and recited a poem he had written 25 years ago.

Aside from the scrumptious food and beverages on offer, the local group displayed works completed by members to decorate the venue.
