September Heritage Markets

Artworks Granite Belt will hold a Heritage Market Day on Saturday 3 September 2022 from 10am to 2pm at the Stanthorpe Railway Precinct, Davadi St, Stanthorpe.

Patrons are invited to join the celebration in Heritage Dress.

Head along and welcome the Downs Explorer steam train, enjoy bands, stalls, children’s games and art, Whistlestop Heritage Gardens, Vintage Cars, Sausage Sizzle, Toffee apples and Fresh produce.

The Tin Experience

The Amiens History Association will present a re-run of their Stanthorpe 150th Celebration event – The Tin Experience – on Sunday, 4 September 2022 from 10am – 2pm at the Amiens Legacy Centre, 17 Goldfields Road, Amiens. Patrons can enjoy demonstrations of tin panning, sluicing, melting and molding, plus screenings of a new documentary on Stanthorpe Tin, food and beverages and all that the Amiens Legacy Centre has to offer.

Stanthorpe assault

Police responded to reports that a man was assaulted around 3.30pm on Friday 15 July at Alison Street in Stanthorpe.

The people involved are known to each other and investigations are continuing.

Kennel closes

Granite Belt Boarding Kennels and Cattery closed down permanently on Tuesday 19 July.

The kennel in Eukey was open for 35 years.

Mitch King coming to Dalveen

Singer-songwriter and now Granite Belt local Mitch King will be performing at Dalveen Hall on Saturday 20 August.

He is currently on tour for his “Queensland Winter Tour”, with the last show being at Dalveen.

Emergency support

From 1 August, St Vincent de Paul Society, the Salvation Army, and the Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre will be working together to help the community have their emergency needs met.

This emergency relief will be available four days a week from 9am until 12pm.
