Police surrounded an Albion Street accommodation last night, arresting a man on murder charges.

At approximately 9.45 pm last night detectives, with assistance from specialist police including the Special Emergency Response Team, surrounded the unnamed accommodation.

A 24-year-old Birkdale man and 24-year-old Wynnum West woman were taken into custody without incident.

Detectives have charged the man in relation to the murder of 23-year-old Levi Johnson at Mansfield on Monday, 12 September.

Operation Uniform Challenger was established after four men allegedly attacked Mr Johnson in a gym car park on Pine Mountain Road.

He was stabbed multiple times in what Queensland Police described as a “ferocious” attack. He died from his injuries at the scene.

The 24-year-old man has been charged with one count of murder (serious organised crime) and is expected to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, September 19). He is the fourth man to be arrested.

The 24-year-old woman is assisting police with enquiries.

Investigations remain ongoing.
