Our Rodeo Royalty put in a huge amount of work before and during the rodeo, with jam-packed days.

Traditionally, many involved are also preparing to compete in events during the week, have day jobs, or have schoolwork (and exams!) to tend to.

We tagged along with the royalty throughout the week to see just how much they get up to during the seven days.

On Monday, the royalty visited Wheatvale State School from 9:30am to 10am, going on to visit Akooramak Aged Care from 10:30am to 11:15am and Warwick Community Kindy from 11:30am to 12pm. The group then spent 12pm to 12:30pm visiting various sponsors.

On Tuesday, the royalty paid Killarney P-10 State School a visit from 9:30am to 10am, going on to spend 10am to 10:20am walking through Killarney. From 10:45am to 11:15am, the group was at Murray’s Bridge State School before visiting Churches of Christ Aged Care from 11:30am to 12:15pm.

From 9am to 9:45am on Wednesday, the royalty

visited Freestone State School, followed by a visit to Yangan State School from 10:15am to 10:45am. The group then visited The Oaks Aged Care from 11:15am to 12pm before spending 12pm to 12:45pm visiting various sponsors.

The royalty made their way to Allora on Thursday, visiting Allora P-10 State School from 9:15am to 9:45am and St Patrick’s Catholic School from 10:15am to 10:45am. From 11:15am onwards, the group visited sponsors in Warwick. The group then were required to assemble at the Showgrounds by 5:35pm for the first Grand Entry of the week.

On Friday, the group paid Warwick Community Kindy another visit from 9am to 9:30am.

Royalty would normally present Campdraft awards throughout the day, but due to wet weather the Campdraft was postponed.

The group is once more required to assemble at 5:35pm for the Grand Entry.

All hands were on deck for the John Dee Rodeo Street Parade on Saturday, with the group required to assemble from 8:15am to 8:30am. From 10am, the royalty returned to the Showgrounds to interact with crowds. Royalty would again normally present Campdraft awards throughout the day.

From 5:35pm, everyone assembled once more for the Grand Entry.

Sunday might be the last day but is by no means a day off. The royalty is required to be present on the grounds all day to meet and interact with people.

They would normally present Campdraft awards throughout the day and in the afternoon assemble for the final Grand Entry.
