The final verdict has been delivered in prominent Warwick stock agent George McVeigh’s sexual assault trial.

The jury has found McVeigh guilty on another charge of sexual assault, and could not reach a decision on the final sexual assault charge.

Earlier this morning, McVeigh was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape, but guilty of the alternate charges of sexual assault and assault with intent to rape respectively.

McVeigh faced six charges in total.

He was charged with four counts of sexual assault, one count of rape with an alternate charge of sexual assault, and one count of attempted rape with an alternate charge of assault with intent to rape.

One of the sexual assault charges was dropped in the course of the trial.

McVeigh will be sentenced later this afternoon.
