A 60-year-old woman sustained critical injuries to her legs and arm and has been airlifted to Princess Alexander Hospital after an incident with a slasher at Ballandean this morning.

QAS attended the private property in Watter Road just before lunchtime and was assisted by QFES and the QPS.

Three ambulance vehicles, two QFES trucks and several police units were at the scene for a couple of hours before the Rescue 500 chopper arrived and transported the woman to Brisbane.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
