Picture perfect show

Picture perfect.

The Photography section at Stanthorpe Show is run by the Stanthorpe Camera Club who are a group of amateur photographers meeting monthly to share their knowledge and love of photography.

As part of their contribution to the Stanthorpe Show, the Stanthorpe Camera Club are responsible for coordinating the photography competition and arranging the photographic displays that take place at the show each year in the Exhibition Hall.

This year will see the ‘open’ category and ‘people’ and ‘nature’ categories running with the theme of “The hand of man must not be visible in the photo”. Interesting indeed, you’ll just have to come and see what the entrants come up with!

For the popular ‘set of four prints of a similar theme’, the topic this year is the “Granite Belt”. The previous year of good rainfall replenishing and reviving rivers, creeks and the national parks is sure to provide a great source for inspiration.

The “Close Up” sponsored by Stanthorpe Camera Club and “Scapes” (Landscapes) sponsored by MWF categories will feature the theme of ‘A natural or rural setting, with no urban or seascape settings’.

The Novice category of the Photographic competition is a great opportunity for anyone who has not previously won a first or second place at the Stanthorpe Show.

The organising committee would like to thank everyone who took the time out to enter and all their sponsors, without whom the competition would not be possible.
