President tops campdraft

Committee President Terry Dwan was the highest scoring member of the weekend.

Tannymorel Campdraft president Terry Dwan was the star for the locals as competitors from around Southern Queensland and beyond flocked to the town for the annual campdraft.

Dwan took out the award for the Highest Scoring Member for the Weekend in the hotly contested event.

Event spokeswoman Ashleigh Roche said it was a very successful event that had attracted a lot of interest and competitors.

“We are getting a lot of feedback about how enjoyable the weekend was and the family friendly atmosphere,” she said.

The five events attracted a lot of interest with Greg Widderick on Pep winning the prestigious Crossdraw Country Co, Jim Keogh Memorial Maiden Campdraft with a Score of 169 with a tie for second and third between Pam Andrew and Angie Seibel with scores of 168 while Rose Picton was fourth riding Silver Fox, with 165.

Taylor Farrier Services, Maurice Browne Memorial Novice Campdraft taken out by Monique Buttsworth riding Abbie Rey with a score of 174.

It was a big weekend for Monique who also won the Harry Hilton Memorial Award for the Highest Scoring Lady Rider of the Weekend.

Second was Joe Maher on EBS First Cut with a score of 173 with Chris Ryan riding KC Surprise 172 in third, fourth Kal Bruyn riding Overdue 169 and Trent Sheppard riding Donrica Corporal, score 167.

Thompson Longhorn, WC Bellingham Memorial Open Campdraft was won by Craig Sheppard on Donrica Miss Dior, score of 175 with Brent ODonnell taking second and third riding Melinda, score to score 174 and Sunman to score173, Craig Sheppard riding Faith, scored 167 for fourth place and fifth was taken out by Phillip Russell riding Karman Bert,164.

Kays Contracting and Cartage Juvenile Campdraft was won by Chelsea Leonard riding Jezzbodees Glen wood with 103 after a run-off againstt Taylor Foster on Sowhat.

Roche Contracting Group Junior Campdraft was won by Georgia Tilley Scoring 85.
