Where to seek out help

Get involved for headspace Day on 4 October.

By Headspace Warwick

On 4 October, Headspace centres across Australia will be celebrating Headspace Day, a day to promote the mental and physical well-being of young people.

This year, the focus of the Headspace Day is to focus on who headspace is, and the services we provide to young people.

A nationwide promotional campaign has been launched that taps into how headspace can help young people with the challenges they face with unrealistic expectations that are placed on them through various forms of media.

This year, Headspace Day falls in the week before Queensland Mental Health Week (7 October to 15 October), a larger campaign to build awareness across all services and ages to promote and sustain an environment that supports mental health.

Headspace Warwick will be holding and joining in on existing events in Warwick and Stanthorpe across Headspace Day and Queensland Mental Health Week. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for further information.

These events serve an important role in helping break the stigma against seeking support when you aren’t feeling right. Remember it’s ok to speak about things going on for you and to seek help when you need it.

Headspace Warwick is one of over 150 headspace sites across Australia. headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation that began in 2006 to provide easy-to-access early intervention services to young people aged 12-25 across the areas of mental health, physical health and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs support, and work and study support.

From exam stress, school refusal, managing anger, and relationship guidance, to dealing with some of life’s bigger issues like grief and loss, Headspace Warwick can help.

Headspace Warwick was established in 2008 and has been supporting young people across the Southern Downs and its surrounds for 15 years. We achieve this aim by employing a multidisciplinary team who bring a range of knowledge and skills to meet the needs of young people and their families.

If a young person has a need that we cannot meet, we will seek the most appropriate service available and support the young person to engage with them.

If you are unsure if Headspace Warwick can help you as a young person or if you are a parent or carer, help a young person you care for, you can arrange to have an appointment with one of Youth Access Workers to discuss these issues and how we might be able to help. From exam stress, school refusal, and managing anger, to dealing with some of life’s bigger issues like grief and loss, Headspace Warwick can support you to get back on track.
