As the holiday spirit takes hold, the Warwick Farmers Market is gearing up for a spectacular Christmas celebration, marking the end of the year with an event that promises festive fun for the whole community.

Scheduled as the market’s end-of-year Christmas party, the event boasts an impressive lineup of over 40 stalls. From food vendors offering fresh, local produce to a variety of handcrafted gifts and artisanal creations, the market aims to create a bustling festive atmosphere.

Adding a dash of Christmas cheer, One of the Markets organisers, Lisa Hampton said there will be a best dress dog and best dress person competition, encouraging attendees to embrace the festive spirit with their most creative Christmas outfits.

“We will also have several entertaining activities like scavenger hunts that will have prizes to be won,” Lisa said.

In the true spirit of giving, the Christmas party will feature a massive raffle filled with locally sourced produce, generously donated by stallholders.

The emphasis on supporting local businesses is evident throughout the event, ensuring that the Warwick community can enjoy high-quality goods while celebrating the holiday season.

Also, the festivities will be further enhanced by the lively tunes of the band “The Rascals,“ ensuring a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.

While the Warwick Farmers Market has been a regular fixture since its inception in March, this Christmas party is a special addition to express gratitude to the community.

Lisa said they aim to provide a platform for local small businesses to thrive, fostering a sense of community and connection.

“The markets have grown significantly over the months and will continue to provide a hub for local businesses and a nice day out for attendees,” she said.

As she has been a vital part of the Warwick Farmers Markets since its beginnings in March, Lisa has watched the Markets evolve and she understands how such markets can bring that personal touch to shopping and bring the community together.

“There will be Christmas gifts made locally and lots to get everyone together and having a good time,” Lisa said.

The Christmas party serves as a joyous culmination of a successful year and a festive prelude to what the market has in store for the future.

Head down to Queens Park, Alice Street, Warwick on Saturday 9 December from 7am to 12pm to join in the festivities and support the local community.
