The Killarney Show is set to host an electrifying evening of rodeo action with the Killarney Butchery Rodeo kicking off on Friday, 23 February 2024.
Renowned for its passion for rodeo, Killarney boasts one of the earliest purpose-built arenas in the state, offering enthusiasts the thrill of Night Rodeo under the shimmering lights.
The festivities will begin at 6:00pm, promising an evening filled with adrenaline-pumping events, giveaways, and novelty competitions that will keep spectators on the edge of their seats. From junior barrel races to bull rides and steer wrestling, the lineup caters to riders of all ages and skill levels, showcasing the diverse talent within the rodeo community.
Jan Hamilton, president of the Killarney Show and Rodeo Society, expressed anticipation for the event, emphasising the importance of community support and favourable weather conditions.
“We are looking forward to people coming in and enjoying the show, and we are excited to get a good crowd and are praying for the weather to be kind to us,“ Jan said.
The Killarney Show and Rodeo Society Inc extends its gratitude to the Queensland Government Department of Local Government Show Societies Grants Program for their invaluable assistance.
Jan acknowledged the generous grant programs from various governmental and community organisations, which have enabled the continuous improvement of the grounds and facilities, ensuring the success of events like the Killarney Butchery Rodeo.
“Thank you to the women of the Warwick Work Camp – Queensland Corrective Services for maintaining and preparing our Showgrounds and facilities, and to the Killarney Recreational Club for their support and use of facilities throughout the year,” she said.
