The Spano’s IGA Warwick Show got off to an early start for some attendees as children and residents from the region descended upon the Showgrounds for Disability Day.

Disability Day at an agriculture show is more than just an ordinary day out. It’s an occasion crafted to provide those with disabilities an opportunity to engage with and relish the agricultural show in an environment that’s accessible and inclusive.

The Warwick Show and Rodeo Society, known for their commitment to inclusivity, take pride in curating an event that has something for everyone.

Society Secretary, Terri Gilbert said the Disability Day was very well received and there are already talks with the RACQ to hold the day again next year.

Despite the chilly winds signalling the onset of winter, enthusiastic attendees braved the weather to partake in the festivities. Highlights of the day included a mesmerising miniature pony display by 4 Legs and Wheels and an up-close encounter with reptiles from D’Aguilar Wildlife.

Thanks to a generous community grant from RACQ, Disability Day was made possible, providing individuals with special needs the opportunity to enjoy the show in a less crowded and more accessible environment and kick-started another successful show on the Southern Downs.
