In a nationwide effort to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Bunnings is hosting a National Sausage Sizzle at all Australian stores on Saturday, 25 May, from 9am to 4pm.
This event supports FightMND, an organisation dedicated to finding a cure for this debilitating disease.
FightMND is urging Australians to support the cause by participating in the event, where Bunnings team members will be behind the BBQs cooking up snags for a crucial cause.
This year, Bunnings has further extended its support for the Big Freeze 10 campaign by launching a limited-edition Big Freeze 10 Bucket, available alongside the iconic FightMND Beanie in all stores nationwide.
Ryan Baker, Bunnings Chief Customer Officer, expressed the company’s commitment to the cause.
“This is the sixth year Bunnings has proudly supported FightMND. While Big Freeze 10 marks a significant milestone, we know there is more work to be done,” Mr Baker said.
“A weekend trip to Bunnings is a cherished tradition for many Aussies, and what better way to celebrate Big Freeze 10 and raise funds than with a national BBQ.
“Our team and customers are passionate about this incredible cause, and grabbing a snag is an easy way to show your support. We encourage everyone to don their Beanie, buy a Big Freeze 10 Bucket, and visit their local sausage sizzle on Saturday, 25 May.”
FightMND CEO Dr Fiona McIntosh highlighted the ongoing battle against MND.
“Since 2014, FightMND has invested over $97 million in vital research and care initiatives for those living with MND,” she said.
“This would not have been possible without the generous support from our partners like Bunnings and the Australian community.
“However, the fight is far from over. Every Beanie, Bucket, and snag purchased brings us one step closer to finding effective treatments or a cure for this devastating disease,” Dr McIntosh said.
Big Freeze 10 Beanies are priced at $25 each, and the limited-edition Big Freeze 10 Buckets are available for $10. All proceeds will go towards supporting FightMND’s mission to combat MND.
