The Southern Downs Regional Council has announced its 24/25 Draft Budget for public consultation on June 13.

In response, Councillor Joel Richters has organised two information sessions to engage with the community and address any questions or concerns.

The first session will be held at the Stanthorpe Civic Centre on Wednesday, June 19, at 5:30 PM. The second session is scheduled for the Warwick Town Hall on Wednesday, June 26, at 5:30 PM.

Cr Richters is encouraging community members to attend these sessions and bring forward their questions.

He has also invited his fellow councillors to join these meetings to answer any queries.

However, it is important to note that these sessions are independently organised by Cr Richters and are not official council-hosted meetings.

Southern Downs Regional Council CEO, Dave Burges said due to the tight timeframes for developing and adopting the 2024/25 budget Council is not organising any formal community engagement sessions.

The feedback form can be downloaded from council’s website under the Have your Say section or paper copies of the form are available council’s Administration Buildings and Libraries in Warwick, Stanthorpe and Allora. Completed forms can be emailed to mail@sdrc.qld.gov.au or submitted at council’s Administration Buildings.

Consultation closes: 5:00 pm Friday 28 June 2024

Following public consultation, the final draft budget will be presented to councillors for adoption at a Council meeting on Wednesday 24 July 2024.
