Curious eyes were drawn to the fences erected around some of the Warwick Hospital houses after the demolition of McCarthy House.
According to a spokesperson from Darling Downs Health, the doctors’ accommodation building located within the Warwick Hospital campus has embarked on an extensive refurbishment project.
The project includes a full renovation of the building, construction of additional bathroom facilities and the installation of new furniture.
“Providing contemporary staff accommodation options at Darling Downs Health’s rural sites is a top priority for the organisation as we continue to explore additional ways to attract skilled and experienced healthcare workers,” the spokesperson said.
Weather and labour permitting the refurbishments are set to be completed by mid-2025.
