Two people have escaped injuries in a fire which authorities said completely destroyed a house east of Warwick on Thursday.

Emergency services, including about six fire crews were called to a Whites Road property in Maryvale just after midday on 4 July where a house had been engulfed by flames.

Firefighters who attended the scene said the house had “totally collapsed”, a Queensland Fire Department spokesman reported.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said two people were taken to Warwick Hospital as a result of the fire.

She said both had been transported for “further observation” and were not believed to have been injured.

Authorities are not yet sure how the blaze started, though police investigations are ongoing.
