The Warwick community welcomed a new space for its four-legged residents on 1 September with the grand opening of the Dog Off-Leash Area at Victoria Park. The event drew a crowd of excited dogs and their owners, all eager to explore the new facility and participate in the day’s festivities.

The opening day was filled with tail-wagging excitement, featuring games, demonstrations, a Springtime Pooch Parade, and plenty of free goodies for both pets and their owners.

The event catered to dogs of all breeds and sizes, ensuring a fun and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved.

Deputy Mayor Sheryl Windle welcomed the return of the dog off leash area and looks forward to the planned celebrations.

“This new dog off leash area is a haven for hounds and a fantastic addition to our community’s open spaces, providing a safe and controlled environment for our dogs to run, play and socialise,” Councillor Windle said.

“Whether it’s chasing tennis balls, making new friends or simply enjoying the fresh air, the new off leash dog area at Victoria Park is the perfect pet-friendly park for Warwick’s dogs to safely run free.

One of the highlights of the day was the “Best Dressed Dog“ competition, where stylish canines strutted their stuff in their finest attire, much to the delight of the crowd.

Looking ahead, the new space is set to receive further enhancements, including the addition of an agility course designed to challenge and entertain the region’s dogs.

As the space continues to develop, dog owners are encouraged to bring their furry friends to Victoria Park and enjoy the new amenities.
