Zonta Warwick is launching its new funding initiative, The Curious Closet, a massive clothing sale aimed at supporting the wellbeing of women and girls.
Opening its doors to the community on 19 October, the sale will feature high-quality, well-cared-for clothing, giving them a second chance at life while offering affordable fashion to the community.
Warwick Zonta vice-president Susan Shaw explained that the event was born out of a desire to help the community navigate the rising cost of living while raising funds for local causes.
“We wanted to create an event that would help people with affordable clothes while raising funds for women who need support,” Ms Shaw said.
The proceeds from the sale will benefit local women’s support centres, education bursaries, leadership achievement awards, and advocacy efforts against family violence.
It will also help provide a platform for amplifying the female perspective in the region.
With over 500 items of clothing sorted, priced, and ready to go, The Curious Closet promises something for everyone.
“We are calling it The Curious Closet because there are hundreds of items consisting of all tastes and sizes, selling for between $5 and $25,” Ms Shaw said.
The event will feature a variety of well-known brands, including Country Road, Jimmy Choo, Veronica Maine, Cue in the City, Taking Shape, and many more, making it a great opportunity for women in Warwick to revamp their wardrobes affordably.
Beyond the fashion, the event offers a chance for women to gather, enjoy a coffee or meal at The RSL, and spend time together, all while supporting a meaningful cause.
Zonta Warwick hopes the initiative will not only raise funds but foster a sense of community and purpose among the women of Warwick.
