Smoke warning as fire burnt near Leslie Dam

Fire crews were forced to battle a fast moving fire at Leslie Dam last Thursday.

Residents were put on alert last Thursday as fire crews battled a blaze near Leslie Dam, forcing smoke to drift towards town due to high winds.

The Queensland Fire Department issued an advice-level warning for the area between Woodhill, Rockland and Glenvale Roads at Leslie Dam after midday on 3 July. While no properties were threatened, authorities warned conditions could change quickly with nearby residents told to be wary of smoke.

Fire conditions eased by Friday morning with all warnings then cancelled by QFD.
