ARK’s pet of the week

Meet Turbo, a three-year-old American Bulldog mix looking for a home of his own.

At just under 25 kilograms, Turbo is a strong, healthy dog with a steady nature and a deep bond with people. He is the kind of companion who will stand by you, offering loyalty, companionship and a reassuring presence in the home. He will also act as a natural deterrent to anyone who should not be there.

Turbo walks well on lead and is easy to manage. He enjoys being close to his people and is happiest when included in daily life.

He has not had exposure to children while in care, but his temperament suggests he would suit a home with older, dog-savvy children. He would also do well with a couple or a single person seeking a devoted companion.

Turbo is selective with other dogs. He is not comfortable around male dogs and would be best suited as the only dog, or possibly with a compatible female. He has previously lived successfully with a large female dog.

His ideal home will have secure fencing and owners who will include him as part of the family. He is not suited to being left in the backyard.

Experience with similar breeds will be highly regarded.

Turbo’s adoption fee is $450, which includes desexing, vaccination and microchipping.
